After finishing a Physiology degree at Newcastle Unit I took my PGCE at Oxford back in ‘92. I have been teaching Biology for over 25 years using different exam boards in a variety of schools (boarding, day, all boys, all girls, Co-ed) but the one thing they had in common was students wanting to achieve their very best. I often do 1:1 or small group work with students. This might mean tackling a tricky topic, working on Lab books, making revision materials or exam technique practice. I have been an examiner for AQA, both GCSE & A Level and moderator of practical for Edexcel. My interests are History of Medicine, Food Science and etymology. In addition to Biology, I also offer help with the Maths & Biology aspects of Psychology A Level and UCAS, whether that be preparing for an MMI or writing personal statements.
